Romantic Atlanta Restaurants

Dinner at one these Atlanta restaurants is the easiest thing to schedule when planning your romantic getaway weekend in the city. Romantic getaways aren’t complete without romantic dinners, and Atlanta has no shortage of fine restraints that cater to intimate couples. Please note; these are romantic restaurants listed, not necessarily kid-friendly establishments. Also, these Atlanta restaurants are geared towards adults, so smoking and drinking may be found at each. A romantic getaway for two should include everything possible to make your evening memorable, so here are five of the best Atlanta restaurants for a romantic couple to sneak away to

Aria

490 E. Paces Ferry Rd. NE Atlanta, GA 30305 404-233-7673

A modern establishment that is designed to be a break from the traditional, Aria provides a classy, upscale feel with a casual atmosphere and a menu that changes nightly. The food is encouraged to be creative in its design and presentation by the chefs and management, and the desert menu changes nightly. If you are a fan of sea food, especially lobster, then this is an establishment well worth your time. Also, if you are looking for something artistic in terms of atmosphere and taste (literally and figuratively) then Aria is worth your time. Please note that the prices are consistent with what you may expect from an upscale Atlanta restaurant, but the portions are actually quite large, so bring your appetite.

Babette's Café

573 N. Highland Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30307 404-523-9121

Babette’s Café is a French-inspired café that serves a combination of zesty European food and outstanding breakfast dishes (try the Eggs Benedict). With different indoor decorations for each season, and an older feel to the general dining area with its high ceilings and wood floors, Babette’s Café is well known by Atlanta natives for its casual yet elegant styling and food. Also, the portions are huge, especially on the desserts. Our recommendation? Try the Italian section of the menu. You’ll be blown away not only by the quantity of food you receive, but by the authentic flavors Babette’s Café manages to faithfully reproduce.

Enoteca Carbonari

710 Peachtree St. NE Atlanta, GA 30308 404-810-9110

The best place to go for authentic Italian food is Italy, but barring that, the Enoteca Carbonari is your next best choice. With its design painstakingly reproducing an authentic Italian restaurant, the Enoteca Carbonari cooks its dishes using an authentic wood burning stove, which is the kind that is used and recognized by connoisseurs all over the world for true Sicilian pizza preparation. The cheese portions are heavy, and the food list is incredibly huge. The meat section alone will have you and your date bowled over with choices, and the wine list is known for being extensive. The Enoteca Carbonari manages to combine a fantastic atmosphere with an incredible amount of food, and all of it is good. If you’re a steak lover, seafood diner or maybe you just like a little of everything, you’ll be satisfied at Enoteca Carbonari.

La Grotta

2637 Peachtree Rd. NE Atlanta, GA 30305 404-231-1368

If you’re looking for a romantic atmosphere, La Grotta provides the soft lighting, classic styling and great food you would expect from any top notch Atlanta restaurant. The mood is heightened by artistic black and white photographs along the walls, and the color scheme of the restaurant is very classical, providing a simple elegance for your evening. While La Grotta is known for it veal and custom made pasta (all pasta dishes are made from scratch), the biggest thing it’s famous for is being filled with eager young men ready to pop the question. Any weekend you come to La Grotta, be ready to applaud a brave young soul ready to ask his hopeful lady for hr hand. Who knows? The next lucky couple could be you.

Shaun’s

1029 Edgewood Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30307 404-577-4358

This bistro combines elegant with casual to create an interesting, if not enjoyable, dining experience. The interior design is second place to the food, which manages to take many traditional, southern and Italian dishes and combine them to find a flavor of their own. While known for their desserts and amazingly gourmet cheeseburger (yes, gourmet cheeseburger), the wine list is also notable for having a tight, yet popular selection. If you want something that is casual while classy, Shaun’s is the place for you.

No matter where you end up, remember that your romantic getaway is what you make of it, so be sure to choose an Atlanta restaurant that provides you with the comfort and class you deserve.
